Introducing “Sweets, Treats, and Yummy Eats”, the podcast that’s made by foodies for foodies!

Each week, I’ll feature a new guest local to Durham Region and the GTA. You can find out more about them as people, and also be aware of local businesses you’ve never heard of before!

There’s something for everyone!
Love baked goods? We have bakers galore!
Love home-cooking? We’ve got self-taught chefs aplenty!
Need some tips on how to better organize yourself in the kitchen? We’ve got experts on that too!

Check back every 1st of the month, as we’ll be posting new episodes then!

Here is the lineup for our first five upcoming episodes!

DECEMBER 1 – HARLEEN KAUR, FOOD MEDIA EXPERT
We kick our series off with a bang, starting with an interview with Harleen Kaur! Harleen is a food media expert, who is also a beginner cook and baker. She will be sharing her plans to open her own baking business alongside myself in the future.
(I chose Harleen because of our shared interest in baking and we plan to operate a baking business together)

JANUARY 1 – ERIN NEWMAN, LOCAL SELF-TAUGHT BAKER
Our second episode will feature Erin Newman, owner and operator of Sweet E’s Treats, a Durham Region baking business specializing in all things sweet. She’ll tell us her story of how her business came to be, how her quitting her “comfortable” job was the best thing she ever did, and her favourite cakes and cookies she’s made to date!
(I chose Erin because of our shared interest in baking, and I plan to shoot some photos for her in the future)

FEBRUARY 1 – KERI GREENE, A LOOK INSIDE COOKING IN A RETIREMENT HOME
Episode #3 showcases Keri Greene, a young cook working at a retirement home in Oshawa. She will give an inside look at how retirement home cooking differs from regular restaurant preparation, and share some tips about adjusting dietary needs!
(I chose Keri because she can provide a very interesting look into cooking at a retirement home. It’s something a lot of people don’t consider as a culinary job. I also work with Keri and she has a great personality for podcasts)

MARCH 1 – THE DOMESTIC GEEK, YOUTUBE SENSATION AND MEAL PLANNING EXPERT
The one and only Sara Lynn Cauchon of Toronto, aka TheDomesticGeek, will be stopping by in March to give some meal prep inspiration! She will go into detail on some of her favourite food pairings, and how long they will last in the fridge so you can meal prep like a pro!
(I chose Sara Lynn because she’s a local inspiration to me with my cooking and meal prep. She’s got some great tips that I use and I believe the viewers would also benefit from this)

APRIL 1 – DARLENE FROM A PEEK INSIDE, YOUTUBE HOMEMAKER AND AUTISM MOTHER
April continues our saga with an interview from Darlene, the owner of the Youtube channel A Peek Inside – My Life as a Homemaker. She will be sharing her experiences as a mother of an autistic son, and how she adjusts her meal planning to fit all of her families needs.
(I chose Darlene because she has a very unique home situation. She is a stay-at-home mom to a son with autism, and her husband is often away because he’s in the military. She has some great tips that are affordable to pretty much everyone)
